Siemian Blue Jays Canada Day Jersey Red : ‘I Think a Lot of People Would Kill to be in This Spot’

March 20th, 2018

EAGAN, Minn. — Trevor Siemian may not have had much control over his destination, but he’s excited to have landed where he did.

The Vikings formally announced Monday afternoon that they have acquired the quarterback via trade, and Siemian said it’s “really good” to be in Minnesota.

“As far as places to be, I’m very, very fortunate to be here. I’ve heard nothing but really good things about the locker room, coaches, front office and ownership,” Siemian told Twin Cities media members via a conference call. “I’m looking forward to getting to work.”

The announcement came in the wake of Thursday’s signing of free agent quarterback Kirk Cousins.

Siemian, who went 13-11 in 24 starts with the Broncos, views the opportunity to work with Cousins as a positive one.

“I think I’ve gained a lot of knowledge playing some ball over the past couple years and grown a lot as a player, and I’m looking forward to coming in here and sharing some of that knowledge and applying it – helping this team and helping Kirk in any way that I can,” Siemian said. “Like anybody else, I see the tape and I watch Kirk week to week, and I know how good of a player he is.”

The former Northwestern standout emphasized Cousins’ character and off-field qualities, as well.

“The cool thing about knowing Kirk the little bit that I do, and hearing things about him, is the kind of person that he is, and the teammate,” Siemian said. “And being in the quarterback room, I think that’s really, really important for me and everybody else.

“I couldn’t be more excited to be teaming up with him and everybody else,” Siemian added. “I’m here for Kirk, I’m here for these guys. I want to win a bunch of games here and continue the roll this organization’s been on recently.”

The Vikings acquired Siemian along with a seventh-round pick in t Youth Toronto Blue Jays Josh Donaldson Scarlet Fashion Canada Day Red FlexBase Authentic Jersey he upcoming 2018 NFL Draft. In exchange, the Broncos received Minnesota’s fifth-round pick in 2019.

It’s a transaction that Vikings General Manager Rick Spielman feels confident about. Spielman said that new Offensive Coordinator John DeFilippo had spent some time with Siemian in the pre-draft process in 2015; in addition, Spielman has been impressed with the young quarterback’s career thus far.

When asked spec Blue Jays Canada Day Jersey ifically what stood out to him on tape, Spielman said one thing was Siemian’s intelligence.

“Just like we saw in Kirk, how quickly he gets through his progressions. I think, talking with Coach DeFilippo, the decision-making, I think all that comes with experience, but when you see him throw – the accuracy and how he throws the ball – and [he’s] just continuing to grow,” Spielman said Toronto Blue Jays Red Jersey . “He still is a young quarterback with a tremendous amount of upside.”

Spielman made comparisons to Case Keenum, who stepped in and played admirably during the 2017 season, helping the Vikings reach the NFC Championship. Keenum signed with the Broncos last week when free agency opened.

“To get a guy at this age that has game experience, similar to when we talked about Case a year ago in going through this,” Spielman continued. “Looking at all the boxes when we watched all the tape on Case, we saw a lot of similar traits in Trevor.”

The Vikings now have Cousins, Siemian and Kyle Sloter – who spent the majority of the 2017 season on Minnesota’s practice squad – in their quarterback room.

Spielman pointed out the emphas Blue Jays Jersey Red is the Vikings placed on ensuring depth – at every position, but especially at quarterback.

“At some point, hopefully not, [if] they have to step in, [like it’s been] the last couple years here, that they can step in … and we can still continue to win,” Spielman said. “One of the top priorities was not only to go out and try to solidify the quarterback position with Kirk but also, by doing that, making sure we had enough depth and enough young talent behind that our coaches here feel very good about, that will continue to work with these guys and develop these guys – both of them.”

In addition to Siemian’s game experience, Spielman appreciates that the young signal caller spent a season learning from Peyton Manning.

Siemian said he was “really lucky” to learn from the 14-time Pro Bowler, two-time Super Bowl champion and future Hall of Famer.

“It was a great learning experience the whole way through,” Siemian said. “[I gained a lot of knowledge] over that time and was surrounded by a ton of good folks. It was a good deal for me. I think it’s something for me to build on and, like I said, apply what I learned from there and try and make this team here the best team we can be – and I think we’re on our way to doing that.”

Siemian, who received t Women’s Toronto Blue Jays Kevin Pillar Majestic Scarlet Fashion Canada Day Red Flex Base Authentic Jersey he call that he had been traded while vacationing with his fiancée in Mexico, reiterated a number of times his excitement in hearing that he’d be joining the Vikings.

“There’s a lot of places you could go. For me to be here in an organization who’s knocking on the door of some really, really great things, I think there’s a lot of people that would kill to be in this spot,” Siemian said. “Again, I feel really lucky, and I’m going to try and add value and be ready to go if called upon. I think it’s going to be a good deal.”

“There are coverage holes in Oliver’s game, and he needs to play with increased toughness, but he’s just scratching the surface of what his talent could allow him to do on the next level with more experience and technique work,” Zierlein said. “Oliver has a high ceiling as a bump-and-run, lockdown corner, but might benefit from a limited role his rookie season.”

Johnson’s role on offense increased in each of his three seasons, and he totaled 2,494 career rushing yards (11th in school history) in just two seasons as the Tigers starter.

Stacking up: NFL Media analyst Daniel Jeremiah initially ranked Johnson as his No. 50 overall prospect but nudged him out of the list after the combine. Vikings Fight to Finish, Fall 31-24 at Panther Custom Rays Jersey s

March 17th, 2018

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Jonathan Stewart and Cam Newton had runs that gained 60-plus yards and led to 14 points in a 31-24 victory by Carolina on Sunday.

Newton broke free for a 62-yard run on a read option before the two-minute warning, running all the way from the Carolina 30 to the Minnesota 8 before Trae Waynes tackled him.

Stewart scored on Carolina’s third offensive play of the game, scooting through a hole at the line of scrimmage and zooming 60 yards on a third-and-1.

Newton’s long one set up a 1-yard jumping-reach-across-the-goal-line by Stewart for his third score of the day and the decisive score.

The late touchdown by the Panthers undid a frantic comeback by Minnesota,  Men’s Authentic Personalized Tampa Bay Rayss Home White MLB Jersey Sale which trailed 24-13 with six minutes in the game.

Adam Thielen’s 52-yard touchdown, followed by a two-point conversion pass from Case Keenum to Blake Bell made it 24-21 with 5:36 remaining.

Andrew Sendejo then returned an interception of Newton 34 yards to the Carolina 6, but the Vikings were forced to settle for a 27-yard field goal by Kai Forbath to tie the game with 3:07 left.

The Vikings fought through multiple injuries on the offensive line. Minnesota started Nick Easton at center in place of Pat Elflein and Rashod Hill at right tackle for Mike Remmers. Jeremiah Sirles started at left guard.

After left tackle Riley Reiff went down, with an ankle injury, the Vikings moved Hill to left tackle and Sirles to right tackle. Danny Isidora came in at left guard.

Injuries, turnovers and early penalties proved too much for the Vikings to overcome.

Thielen finished with six catches for 105 yards. Keenum was 27-of-44 passing for 280 yards with two scores and two interceptions for a passer rating of 75.9.

Keenum was picked off on his second attempt of the game after taking a deep shot down the sideline to Thielen. Daryl Worley came down with the football at the Carolina 31.

The Vikings answered the Panthers quick strike with a 10-play, 75-yard drive that Keenum finished wi Men’s Authentic Custom Tampa Bay Rays Alternate Navy Blue Baseball Jersey th a beautiful 18-yard pass to Kyle Rudolph. The quarterback dropped the ball just over the outstretched arms of Mike Adams.

The Panthers, however, retaliated with a 14-play, 89-yard drive that lasted 7:12 and ended with a 1-yard plunge by Stewart.

The possession — which was extended with a facemask penalty on Anthony Barr and helped with another 15-yard penalty against Everson Griffen for the same reason — was the longest in yards and third longest scoring drive allowed by Minnesota this season.

Minnesota added a field goal with 5:02 left in the first half. Kai Forbath was true on a 30-yarder to cap a nine-play, 62-yard drive that lasted 4:03.

Keenum ducked under a tackle attempt during a blitz by former Vikings nickel Captain Munnerlyn. After avoiding the tackle for loss, Keenum found Rudolph open in the middle of the field for a gain of 13 and followed with a quick pass to the tight end for 10 more.

Jerick McKinnon then slipped free for runs of 8 and 17 yards to move the ball to the Carolina 19. The drive, however, stalled at the 12.

The Vikings defense gave the offense another scoring opportunity with 2:33 left in the first half, and Minnesota added a 22-yard field goal by Forbath after the Vikings gained 64 yards on 11 plays.

Laquon Treadwell had catches of 8 and 15 yards to convert a pair of third downs, and Keenum overcame a sack by Julius Peppers with a 15-yard Personalized Tampa Bay Rays Jersey  scramble.

Carolina built a 21-13 lead with 8:42 left in the third quarter thanks to an 18-yard touchdown pass from Newton to Devin Funchess. Newton was patient in the pocket.

The Vikings turned the ball over on their next snap when Mario Addison hit the ball durin Custom Tampa Bay Rays Jersey g Keenum’s delivery. The play was ruled a fumble by Keenum. Addison was credited with a sack, and the Panthers took over at the Vikings 31.

Minnesota’s defense, however, limited Carolina to a 41-yard field goal by Graham Gano that put the Panthers up 24-13 with 6:51 remaining.

The Vikings had an opportunity to add points after the special teams unit downed a punt at the Carolina 2 and forced a quick punt that Marcus Sherels returned to the 30-yard line.

The Vikings lost 6 yards on the possession and tried a 54-yard field goal that was off the mark.

Minnesota drove to the Carolina 26 on its next possession, but James Bradberry picked off a Keenum pass that was high and bounced off Diggs’ hands.

The Vikings defense forced a quick three-and-punt, and the offense found a spark with four short throws, the last of which was Thielen’s 52-yarder.

Sendejo’s Custom Orioles Jersey  Pick Spurs Late Rally, Demonstrates ‘Nothing but Fight’ in Vikings

March 16th, 2018

In a game that came down to the wire, Andrew Sendejo produced a big play to give the Vikings a shot at a comeback.

On the heels of a 52-yard touchdown play by Adam Thielen to bring Minnesota within 3, Panthers quarterback Cam Newton dropped back on third-and-5 and searched for a target. He threw over the middle to Christian McCaffrey, but when the running back couldn’t make the catch, Sendejo did.

The safety caught the ball in stride near the Panthers 40 and returned it to the 6, giving the Vikings a goal-to-go p Personalized Baltimore Orioles Jersey ossession.

Sendejo’s pick put Minnesota in great field position, but the Panthers defense locked down.

With 4:36 remaining on the clock, Latavius Murray took the handoff from Case Keenum but was held to no gain up the middle. Keenum targeted Stefon Diggs in the front-right corner of the end zone on second-and-goal, but James Bradbury got a hand in to disrupt the ball.

On third down, Keenum was sacked for a loss of 3 by defensive tackle Kawann Short, and the Vikings were forced to settle for a 27-yard field goal.

“I missed a throw after Sendejo’s interception. We’ve got to score a touchdown there,” Keenum said o Men’s Customized Authentic Baltimore Orioles Home White MLB Baseball Jersey f his pass to Diggs that was a hair to the inside. “The defense comes up big after we score to get within three. I wanted that one bad. That was tough.”

Forbath’s kick tied the game at 24, but Minnesota was unable to hold on. Newton scrambled for 62 yards to set up the Panthers fourth touchdown of the day that sealed the game for Carolina and snapped the Vikings eight-game win streak.

“It was unfortunate to give up a big run like that at the end of the game, a crucial point in the game,” Sendejo said. “But we’ll bounce back next week, and we’ll be fine.”

Diggs acknowledged that the Vikings failed to fully capitalize on the energy swing following Sendejo’s interception.

“They made some plays afterwards, they bounced back after we had some momentum, and we just ha Customized Orioles Jersey Cheap ve to continue to fig Custom Orioles Jersey ht and play the whole game,” Diggs said.

Vikings Head Coach Mike Zimmer said miscues throughout the game – including three turnovers and missed tackles or gaps that allowed big gains by Carolina – were “unlike” the Vikings and will need to be straightened out.

While disappointed in a loss – and mistakes that led up to it – a number of players after the game said that Minnesota’s battle down the stretch proved the team’s resiliency and determination.

Brian Robison said that playing from behind was tough but that he’s ultimately proud of his teammates.

“I’ve been around a lot of teams, and a lot of teams would have [shut down], and this team has nothing but fight in them,” Robison said. “At the end of the day, we don’t care if we’re down three points, one point or 20 points. We’re going to fight, and we’re going to claw, scratch, do whatever we’ve got to do to get back in the ball game.

“And we did that today,” Robison added. “We had our opportunity to win the ball game, [and] we just didn’t get it done.”

Fellow defensive lineman Linval Joseph echoed Robison, saying that Sunday’s game confirmed what he knew to be true of the 2017 Vikings.

“This team fought to the end, and I like that. Because this easily could have been a blowout, but we didn’t put our tail between our legs. We fought to the final end,” Joseph said. “We made a big mistake at the end, and that cost us. But we know where we stand, and we know what we have here. And next week, we’re going to get back to it and get back to the win streak.”

Big Plays Hurt Vikings Run Def Custom Orioles Jersey ense in Close Loss

March 16th, 2018

One of the Vikings biggest strengths entering Sunday’s game is an area they will need those most improvement on heading into next week.

Minnesota’s defense entered the game second in the NFL by allowing just 77.7 yards per game on the ground and were tied for third in the NFL, giving up only 3.5 yards per carry.

But a pair of big plays against their run defense was a key reason why the Vikings saw their eight-game win streak snapped with a 31-24 road loss to the Panthers.

“We gave up 200 yards rushing … you know, those are unlike us,” said Vikings Head Coach Mike Zimmer. “Credit Carolina.”

Added Vikings cornerback Xavier Rhodes: “Our game plan was to stop the run, but they did good blocking up and creating holes for the running back to run and creating holes for Cam [Newton]. Just made plays. Their O-line made plays at the right time.”

The final stats show the Vikings surrendered a season-high 216 yards on the ground. Carolina had 36 rushing attempts, averaging exactly 6.0 yards per carry.

The Panthers struck early when Jonathan Stewart burst through the right s ide of the line (when Carolina had extra offensive linem Customized Orioles Jersey Cheap en in that formation), as the running back Men’s Customized Authentic Baltimore Orioles Home White MLB Baseball Jersey  raced 60 yards for a score on the Panthers third offensive play of the game.

“They changed things a little bit,” said Vikings safety Andrew Sendejo. “But I’ll have to look at the film to see how he got through.”

Added Zimmer: “That’s part of what they do. We got caved down a little bit, and we didn’t, we ended up having two guys outside, and we missed where they’re supposed to fit.”

Stewart’s run was the longest rush allowed o Personalized Baltimore Orioles Jersey f the season for the Vikings, until the fourth quarter when Panthers quarterback Cam Newton set Carolina up for the win with a 62-yard scamper up the middle of the field.

“He ran the ball, did good. We’ve got to stop him when he have a chance to stop him,” Rhodes said of Newman. “He did what he does to keep his team in the game. That’s why he’s a leader on his team. They needed plays and he made them.

“I guess it was a quart Men’s Authentic Custom Baltimore Orioles Alternate Baseball Jersey Orange erback run. They made a few good blocks, and he saw a hole and ran through it,” Rhodes added. “When I turned around, I was trying to contain him outside and hope I had some help inside.”

Zimmer noted that a missed tackle aided Newton’s lengthy romp.

Numerous Vikings defenders talked about the need for a better run defense over the season’s final three games.

But aside from the pair of 60-plus-yard runs, Minnesota’s defense was essentially on par with its current performance this season.

Aside from the monstrous gains, the Vikings gave up 94 yards on 34 carries, an average of 2.8 yards p Custom Orioles Jersey er attempt.

“It was unfortunate to give up a big run like that at the end of the game, a crucial point in the game,” Sendejo said. “But we’ll bounce back next week, and we’ll be fine.”

5 Takeaways from the Loss Custom Orioles Jersey  to Carolina

March 16th, 2018

The Vikings are indeed mortal. Their eight-game winning streak has come to an end at the hands of the Carolina Panthers, who forced uncharacteristic mistakes from the Vikings and made several big plays of their own to take down one of the hottest teams in the NFL by a count of 31-24.

Here are five takeaways from the Vikings loss to Carolina on Sunday.

1. Furious 4th quarter charge was impressive, but wasn’t quite enough

With 7:04 to play in the 4th quarter, the Vikings offense took the field trailing 24-13. They were minus-three in turnover margin, had allowed four sacks, missed a field goal and were down 60% of their starting offensive line. But Mike Zimmer’s team still found a way to bite, scratch and claw their way back into the game. By the 3:11 mark, the Vikings had tied the game. Case Keenum hit Adam Thielen for a 52-yard touchdown and tight end Blake Bell secured the two-point conversion on a pass from Keenum to pull the Vikings to within three. On the ensuing Panthers 3rd down, Custom Orioles Jersey  Andrew Sendejo intercepted a Cam Newton pass and returned it to the Panthers 6. The Vikings couldn’t punch it in for a touchdown from there, but Kai Forbath split the uprights from 27 yards to knot the game at 24. It was a remarkable demonstration of grit and toughness on the part of the Vikings, but Carolina had one more big play left, and it came via a Cam Newton 62-yard run to the Minnesota 8. Three plays later, Jonathan Stewart scored his third touchdown of the day, and that would be enough to end the Vikings comeback.

2. It’s not time to panic

The Vikings had won eight consecutive games entering Week 13. It had been more than two months since the tea m and its fans have experienced the bitter taste of defeat. It’s an unusual feeling, and that’s a good thing. The Vikings did lose while other contending NFC rivals won, but it’s not time to panic. The Vikings are still one win away from clinching the NFC North and every goal they set out to attain from the very beginning is still attainable. The main concern going forward should be the health of players who are banged up and then finding a way to correct errors in time to put forth a good effort against the Cincinnati Bengals next week at U.S. Bank Stadium. Yes, it’s on to Cincinnati.

3. Slow start, late mistake marred otherwise solid defensive effort

The Vikings allowed touchdown drives of 69 and 89 yards to open the game, but then settled down to hold Carolina to nine, six 14 yards on the next three drives. Carolina struck again to open the second half, but then was held to drives of eight, two, 15, eight and five yards on the next five  Customized Orioles Jersey Cheap series. To that point, Christian McCaffrey was held to 48 yards on 10 touches and Newton had only eight yards on 10 carries. Newton made the game’s decisive play on the second-to-last Panthers series, though, taking the snap on 2nd and 5 from the Carolina 30 and finding a crease to spring 62 yards to the Minnesota 8. That late mistake combined with the Panthers first two drives of the game constituted the Vikings gravest miscues on defense, but they were enough to get Carolina over the hump and into the winner’s circle.

4. Uncharacteristic mistakes held down Vikings offense

Pass protection, red zone scoring efficiency and big-plays from wide receivers have defined much of the Vikings success on offense this season. The Vikings didn’t perform to standard in those areas on Sunday and it hampered the offense’s production. Keenum was sacked six times, the Vikings were one of four (25%) in the red zone and zero for two (0%) in goal-to-go situations and dropped passes took two touchdowns away and resulted in an Eagles interception. These mistakes were both uncharacteristic and too much for the offensive to overcome against a stout Panthers defense.

5. Injuries bear monitoring after physical contest in Carolina

Starting center Pat Elflein and starting right tackle Mike Remmers were both inactive, while starting left tackle Riley Reiff left the game and did not return with a leg injury. Danielle Hunter, Emmanuel Lamur, Thielen and tight end Kyle Rudolph were also among those who were banged up during the game. Injuries are a part of the game for every team every week, but after  Men’s Authentic Custom Baltimore Orioles Alternate Baseball Jersey Orange what was a physical contest between two tough teams, injuries will be something worth monitoring in the days ahead for the Vikings.

Injuries Force Vik Custom Orioles Jersey ings to Shuffle Offensive Line

March 16th, 2018

The musical chairs for the Viking offensive line started before Sunday’s game even kicked off.

With rookie center Pat Elflein missing an NFL game for the first time because of a shoulder injury, left guard Nick Easton slid over a spot to center while Jeremiah Sirles filled in for Easton at left guard.

Riley Reiff was at left tackle, Joe Berger was at right guard and Rashod Hill remained at right tackle as Minnesota opened the game with Men’s Authentic Custom Baltimore Orioles Alternate Baseball Jersey Orange  its fifth different starting line combination this season.

“That’s part of the job description though, guys bounce around,” Easton said. “We’re all talented at different positions, so I think we adjusted pretty well.”

But that starting combination didn’t remain intact all game. Reiff left the game with an ankle injury late in the third quarter.

Reiff’s absence created seismic shifts all across the line, with only Easton (center) and Berger (right guard) remaining in their original spots.

Hill took over at left tackle for Reiff, while the versatile Sirles moved to Hill’s spot at right tackle. That meant rookie Danny Isidora entered the game and filled in at left guard.

But with the Vikings trailing for most of the game and needing to gain yards through the air, Carolina’s defense sensed passing plays were in order.

The Vikings allowed a season-high six sacks on the day, including a strip-sack that lead to a Panthers field goal.

The entire offense shouldered the blame for the tough performance on that side of the ball.

“Honestly, I think those guys did a really good job,” said Vikings wide receiver Adam Thielen. “But when you have to pass it and the defense knows, they’re teeing off.

“We have to put those guys in better positions by starting fast and scoring early because then they don’t know if you’re going to run the ball or pass the ball. It’s complementary football,” Thielen added. “I think that’s why we haven’t [given up many] sacks this whole year, because we’ve been able to score points and  Men’s Customized Authentic Baltimore Orioles Home White MLB Baseball Jersey take pressure off those guys.”

Added tight end Kyle Rudolph: “Unfortunately that’s part of our game and something we have to deal with. Everybody that was called upon and came in played well.”

Easton and Vikings Head Coach Mike Zimmer noted there would be plenty of room for improvement this week at practice.

“We’re going to see things across the board we wish we would have done differently,” Easton said. “One thing here, one thing there … it would have been a completely different game for us.”

Added Zimmer: “That’s wh Personalized Baltimore Orioles Jersey y we have them here. They’re pros, and they need to come in and perform.”

While it was a frustrating day for the offense, the offensive line did help Minnesota’s ground game record exactly 100 yards rushing against a stout Panthers defense.

That marks the 10th time this season the Vikings have gained 100 or more rushing yards in a game.

While Minnesota saw its eight-game win streak snapped, Easton provided a silver living with all the moving and shaking around him.

“I think we definitely have experience in ga mes,” Easton said. “Wish we could have pulled it out though, you know?”
