MANKATO, Minn. – When Jacque Yaneff found out she would be attending her first Vikings Training Camp on Aug. 2, she was ecstatic.

But she was in for a bigger surprise than she could imagine.

After making the 200-mile drive from Sioux City, Iowa, with her husband Tom, Jacque sat down on a park bench on the campus of Minnesota State University, Mankato. She relaxed a bit, while hoping for the chance to see a few of her beloved Vikings bicycle past en route to their morning walk-through.

A couple of position coaches and golf carts carrying team staff members and trainers buzzed by, and then one pulled up and stopped in front of Jacque, who glanced up as a natural reaction.

These faces were very familiar.

“It was Al Roker, Megyn Kelly … and [Vikings General Manager] Rick Spielman!” Jacque explained excitedly.

“I started crying,” she added with a chuckle. “It’s all the emotions. There’s just some sense of loyal Custom Red Sox Jersey ty that you find in loving a team and sticking with them forever.”

Jacque and Tom have been married for 15 years now, having blended their families of three children each. Tom happily looked on as Jacque recounted her reaction to the surprise.

And if there’s anyone who can attest to her loyalty to the Vikings, it’s Tom.

“No one sits in the room with her during a football game,” Tom quipped. “Even our dog would actually leave because Jacque screams and yells.”

Added Tom: “There’s not a bigger Vikings fan, I assure you.”

It was because of that devotion that Jacque’s interest was piqued a couple of months prior while watching the TODAY Show. The program announced a contest called “The Summer of Yes,” posting the following on the show’s website:

Have you ever wanted to master a certain skill, cross off a bucket list item or do a particular activity outside of your comfort zone? “TODAY” wants to hear about it!

Jacque decided to fill out the short online form, but initially it wouldn’t submit correctly.

“I sat there and I thought to myself, ‘Hmm. Does it really even pay? I’m not going to win anyway,’ ” recalled Jacque. “But I decided to turn around and [redo it]. It was just three or four s Men’s Authentic Custom Baltimore Orioles Alternate Baseball Jersey Orange entences telling them, you kno

w, ‘I’m a 50-year-old female, I’m a teacher and athletic director at my school. I’m a die-hard Vikings fan, and I would love to take motivation and [inspiration] back to my students.’ ”

Jacque told TODAY that she would love to be a fly on the wall and observe the Vikings coaching staff. Instead, she was treated to an entirely unique experience: “GM for a Day.”

From the morning walk-through session, to lunch and midday meetings, through the end of the Vikings afternoon practice, Jacque shadowed Spielman and learned all she could about the position and the organization.

“Rick’s been phenomenal. He’s a [Nebraska] Huskers fan  Baltimore Orioles because his son plays there, so we’re good,” Jacque chuckled.

“But he’s so knowledgeable, and this organization has been so pleasant to me,” Jacque said. “It’s been so fri Women’s Personalized Stitched Any Name Any Number Baltimore Orioles Home White Jersey endly and unreal – I didn’t expect anything like this.”

Jacque has never called Minnesota home, but she’s as dedicated a fan as anyone who has.

Growing up in Freeman, South Dakota – a town of fewer than 1,500 people – Jacque and her family had only three television stations, one of which carried Vikings games. Cheering for the Purple and Gold was a family affair. Then, when Jacque was just 12 years old, her mother passed away.

“[The Vikings] became kind of a bonding situation for my dad and me,” Jacque said. “M Men’s Boston Red Sox Majestic Alternate Navy Flex Base Authentic Custom Jersey y brothers are 14 and 16 years older than I am. So it was just my dad and me at home.”

The father-daughter duo often made the four-hour trip from Freeman to Minneapolis, where they would watch the Vikings play at Met Stadium.

“We sat through many snow storms outside,” Jacque recalled with a smile. “And we took my best friend, who was a neighbor. The local banker would get us passes, so we actually had seats on the 40-yard line down at the bottom. Seeing Fran Tarkenton and Tommy Kramer and all those guys, it was just [awesome].”

Now decades later, Jacque found herself meeting the Vikings current quarterback, among other players and coaches.

Along her tour with Spielman, she had the opportunity to speak with Sam Bradford, Kyle Rudolph, Everson Griffen, Xavier Rhodes and Adam Thielen. Jacque said the interactions just added to an already “phenomenal day” and that she absorbed a lot of information to take back to her students.

“They had some really good things to say. And [Vikings Head Coach Mike Zimmer], he had really good points,” Jacque said. “You need to be an all-around athlete, and to get that way, it’s important to participate in more than one sport.

“But more importantly, your academics [are crucial], baltimore orioles custom jersey ” she continued. “If you’re not smart in school, you’re not going to be smart on the football field. You have to put forth that effort in the classroom to be successful as an athlete.”

Jacque has always loved the Vikings, but her admiration has grown since becoming a seve boston red sox custom jersey nth- and eighth-grade literature teacher and also serving as her school’s athletic director. She now more deeply appreciates the work that the team does off the field with children’s hospitals, schools and local youth.

After spending the day alongside Spielman, she’s gained yet another perspective of the team she adores.

“I’m totally blown away by everything that they have their hands in and how much they have to do,” Jacque said of Spielman and his staff. “I mean, from a TV perspective, you know they’re there, but boy, the budgets and the practices and the plays and the film – I just have real appreciation for everybody that’s part of this place. It’s absolutely unreal.”

Vikings Fall 20-13 to Seah Custom MLB Red Sox Jersey awks in Seattle

December 15th, 2017

The Vikings first-team offense and defense played more in the second preseason game, but the units didn’t get the results they wanted in a 20-13 loss to the Seahawks in Seattle on Friday.

The Vikings first-team defense allowed a touchdown on the opening drive of the game. The Seahawks cov Baltimore Orioles ered 77 yards on 11 plays in 5:24.

Minnesota’s offense answered with an 11-play, 76-yard drive, moving all the way from its own 12 to the Seattle 12, but was forced to settled for a 29-yard field goal.

The Vikings second-team defense also allowed a touchdown drive before Russell Wilson headed for the sidelines.

Minnesota’s Sam Bradford finished 7-of-11 passing for 95 yards and a passer rating of 91.1 after three series. He was re baltimore orioles custom jersey placed by Case Keenum with 1:57 left in the first half.

Keenum finished 12-for-18 for 70 yards, and Taylor Heinicke was 6-of-9 passing for 84 yards. Heinicke also gained 25 yards on three scrambles.

Minnesota’s young players made several plays on offense and defense, but it wasn’t enough to complete a comeback in the second half.

Ifeadi Odenigbo forced a fumble that linebacker Eric Wilson recovered at the 3 and returned 16 yards. Odenigbo and Tashawn Bower each recorded sacks, and Jaleel Johnson recorded two tackles for loss.

The offense responded to the fumble recovery with Heinicke leading a touchdown drive that he capped with a 21-yard pass to Bucky Hodges, but it wasn’t enough to rally Minnesota.

The Seahawks gained 406 net yards, compared to 320 by the Vikings and were 8-of-15 on third downs. Minnesota was 5-of-13 on third downs.

Russell Wilson completed 13 of 18 passes (72.2 percent) for 206 yards and two touchdowns for a passer rating of 147.0.

He was replaced by Trevone Boykin, who completed 5 of 8 passes for 55 yards and a rating of 82.8. Austin Davis followed Boykin and completed 2 of 5 passes for 21 yards.

Seattle spread its carries between Eddie Lacy (six for 20 yards), Chris Carson (six for 27 yards), Alex Collins (10 for 58) and Mike Davis (six for 37).

The Vikings fell to 1-1 this preseason and 13-2 in preseason games und Men’s Boston Red Sox Majestic Alternate Navy Flex Base Authentic Custom Jersey er Mike Zimmer.

Minnesota will host San Francisco at U.S. Bank Stadium on Sunday, Aug. 27, in a game that will be televised nationally by NBC’s Sunday Night Football.

Vikings players are off Saturday and will return to practice at Winter Park on Sunday.

Here’s more on what happened in the first half and on special teams for the Vikings:

First half offense

The first-team offense opened in a noisy environment with a rookie center (Pat Elflein), and left side of the offensive line without much experience (left tackle Rashod Hill and left guard Nick Easton) but managed to move the ball from its own 12-yard line to the Seattle 12 before a false start, failed screen, gain of 1 and delay of game penalty forced Minnesota to settle for a 29-yard field goal by Marshall Koehn.

Sam Bradford opened the Vikings first drive with a quick 12-yard completion to Michael Floyd. Bradford also connected with Stefon Diggs three times during the drive for gains of 10, 5, and 39 yards.

Like much with the preseason, the drive had good and bad elements. It was great for the Vikings to move the ball against a strong defense, but the stumble in the red zone is the kind of thing that can make the difference in a close game.

Keenum completed six of nine passes in leading a hurry-up drive that covered 41 yards over 10 plays in 1:48. Kai Forbath capped it by drilling a 51-yard field goal.

Dalvin Cook led the Vikings with seven carries for 40 yards and caught one pass for 10 yards.

The Vikings trailed 14-6 at halftime.

First hal boston red sox custom jersey f defense

After Seattle drew a holding http://www.ecustombaseballgears.com/  penalty against Terence Newman on the first snap of the game, and Russell Wilson opened blazing hot. He connected with Doug Baldwin twice before throwing a jump ball to Kasen Williams that the receiver grabbed with one hand against Xavier Rhodes for a gain of 27.

Another completion to Baldwin followed for 16 more. Mackensie Alexander fell when trying to track Baldwin. Newman stopped Baldwin shy  Custom Orioles Jersey of the goal line but was injured when making the tackle. He was replaced by Marcus Sherels.

Sherels (5-foot-10 and 175 pounds) made a nice pass breakup against Jermain Kearse (6-1, 209) in the end zone on second down, but Wilson connected with Williams (6-1, 219) on a similar throw for a 1-yard touchdown.

Danielle Hunter sacked Wilson for a loss of 13 to end the Seahawks second possession, and Minnesota’s second-team forced a 53-yard fi Men’s Authentic Custom Stitched Boston Red Sox Alternate Baseball Jersey Red eld goal by Blair Walsh that hit the crossbar and bounced back toward the field.

Wilson led another touchdown drive against the Vikings second team, capping the possession with a short throw that became a 22-yard catch-and-run for running back Mike Davis.

Special teams

The Vikings continued evaluating players at the kicker, punter, kickoff returner and backup punt returner positions.

Koehn was good from 29, and Forbath made a 51-yard pressure-packed kick before the half. Koehn was good on an extra point in the fourth quarter.

Ryan Quigley and Taylor Symmank each executed punts from plus-50 territory by booting the ball with it point down. Quigley’s netted 32 yards and caused a muff by J.D. McKissic, but Seattle recovered at its own 15. Symmank’s netted 24 yards and was fair caught at the 20.

Quigley also executed a 46-yard punt that was downed by Men’s Authentic Custom Baltimore Orioles Alternate Baseball Jersey Orange  Sam Brown at the Seattle 3-yard line.

Symmank had a 49-yard punt in the second half.

Rodney Adams fumbled the opening kickoff of the second half. He totaled 34 yards on two returns. Stacy Coley returned one kickoff 17 yards. Jerick McKinnon returned Seattle’s first kickoff 10 yards.

Sherels returned one punt for eight yards, Adams returned one for 9, R.J. Shelton returned one for seven yards, and Coley lost a yard during a return.

Seahawks Hurt Vikings Defense Through t Canadiens Custom Jersey he Air

December 15th, 2017

SEATTLE — The Vikings spoke this week about the importance of being able to NHL 100 Classic Celebration  contain Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson on the ground.

Wilson instead beat the Vikings with his arm Friday night as Minnesota’s pass defense endured a frustrating night.

“He’s able to create and get out of adverse situations and help receivers get open,” said Vikings cornerbac Men’s Customized Reebok Montreal Canadiens Authentic 2016 Winter Classic White Hockey Jersey k Terence Newman. “He’s a guy that’s tough to bring down and is a very accurate passer and can throw it a long way.”

Wilson was 13 of 18 for 206 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions. The quarterback completed 72.2 percent of his passes and had a passer rating for 147.0.

The Vik Carey Price Jersey ings first-team defense gave up an 11-play, 7 Montreal Canadiens Winter Classic Jersey 7-yard scoring sequence on the opening drive as Wilson threw for 56 yards on five completions.

“We gave up a touchdown, so (we didn’t pla http://www.becanadiensfans.com/ y) well enough,” said Vikings safety Harrison Smith. “That’s what we expect to do [shut them down] no matter who we play, where we play, wherever.”

Wilson had three completions th Custom Canadiens Jersey at went fo Montreal Canadiens Ice Hockey Jersey r at least 27 yards, the longest of which was a 37-yard completion across the middle to Seahawks wide receiver Doug Baldwin that seemed to confuse the Minnesota secondary.

“We didn’t cover him,” said Vikings Head Coach Mike Zimmer. “The [defender] didn’t go with him.”

Zimmer said Seattle’s first scoring drive was a combination of subpar defense from the Vikings in the most crucial of situations, as Seattle converted three times on third downs, including a 1-yard touchdown pass.

“Early they made a couple of great cat Customized Adidas Men’s Montreal Canadiens Authentic Home Red Ice Hockey Jersey ches and got us on a couple of scrambles, but I just didn’t — the third downs were not good,” Zimmer said. “I didn’t think we were particularly sharp in some of the other areas.”

Added Newman: “Not getting them off the field on third downs allows them to keep drives going. Th Tomas Plekanec Jersey ey’re getting closer and closer to the red zone. They took a chance and scored.”

The Vikings gave up 282 passing yards on the night and allowed three Seahawks quarterbacks to post a combined passer rating of 115.3.

Youth Movement: Easton, Elflein Make Their Push on Vikings O- Canadiens Custom Jersey Line

December 15th, 2017

All eyes were on the Vikings offensive line, and the unit gave Sam Bradford a cleaner pocket in Minnesota’s second preseason game of 2017.

Last week, Minnesota started Nick Easton at center and later subbed in rookie Pat Elflein. Against the Seahawks Friday night, both young linemen were part of the starting five. Easton slid over to left guard in place of the injured Alex Boone, and Elflein started at center.

Elflein said he experienced some jitters prior to his first snap but never doubted that he was prepared.

“Yeah, there were a little  NHL 100 Classic Celebration nerves, but I feel like if you prepare well during the Tomas Plekanec Jersey  week – which, we take that really seriously around here, the preparation – then what do you have to be nervous about?” Elflein said. “So preparation-wise I felt good, I felt ready to go, and going against our D-line really got me ready. But yeah, it was a good experience. It was fun.”

Rashod Hill (LT), Joe Berger (RG) and Mike Remmers (RT) made up the rest of the line. It was the same combination the Vikings used during most of practice  Montreal Canadiens Ice Hockey Jersey this week. Left tackle Riley Reiff, signed by Minnesota in free agency, was injured during the Vikings first training camp practice on July 27 and has not returned to full-contact drills.

After allowing two sacks of Bradford at Buffalo on Aug. 10, the offensive line kept the Vikings quarterback upright through three offensi Carey Price Jersey ve series.

“Communication-wise, as far as knowing where each other was and being on the same page, I think it was great,” Berger said. “How it actually went down, we’ll see once we look at the film.”

Behind the starting five, rookie running back Dalvin Cook gained 40 rushing yards on seven carries. Bradford picked up four yards on the ground himself when he scrambled on second-and-7 early in the first quarter.

“It’s great to see the backside of your running back running by,” Berger said. “That’s what you look for in the running game, so it was good to see.”

Elflein also was happy with the way the line helped Cook in his second NFL game.

“[When Dalvin] can squirt through there, usually we’re all doing our jobs. So we just have to keep building on it,” Elflein said. “We had a few running plays that we stringed together,

“[We have to watch the film and] break it down to see what really happened,” Elflein added. “But yeah, anytime you can gain a little momentum like that, running the ball, is always good.”

Bradford was 7-of-11 passing for 95 yards and a passer rating of 91.1 behind the protection of the first-team line. His stats included passes of 10, 11 and 39 yards to Stefon Diggs, a 10-yard pass to Cook and a 12-yard throw to Michael Floyd on Minnesota’s first offensive play of the evening.

 Custom Canadiens Jersey

“Protec Men’s Customized Reebok Montreal Canadiens Authentic 2016 Winter Classic White Hockey Jersey tion from the offensive line was much-improved,” FOX analyst Pete Bercich said following the game. “It helped [the Vikings] to open up the passing game a little bit.”

Bradford credited the increased protection for being able to make some impressive plays with the first-team offense.

“I think those guys up front, they played really well tonight,” Bradford said. “I thought they did a really nice job in the run game, just changing the line of scrimmage, opening holes for Dalvin to hit. And I thought they played well in the pass game tonight, too, so I’m really proud of those guys and what they were able to do tonight.”

Easton, Elflein and Hill played the entire first half, staying on the field when Case Keenum rotated in at quarterback late in the second quarter. Rookie Danny Isidora subbed in at right guard for Berger, and second-year tackle Beavers took Remmers’ place alongside him.

Minnesota did not utilize a single run play behind that specific combination. Keenum was 6-of-10 passing for 37 yards on a 10-play drive that ended in a 51-yard field goal by Kai Forbath.

The Vikings shuffled the line again after halftime. In add http://www.becanadiensfans.com/ ition to Isidora and Beavers, Jeremiah Sirles and Aviante Collins were rotated in at left guard and left tackle, respectively. Zac Kerin relieved Elfl Montreal Canadiens Winter Classic Jersey ein at center.

Sirles made a smart play late in the third quarter. On second-and-10 from the Vikings 11-yard line, Sirles tracked and caught a tipped Keenum pass. The catch prohibited a Seattle interception and gave the lineman a 5-yard reception in the gamebook.

On the following play, however, Keenum was taken down by Seahawks defenders Nazair Jones and Kache Palacio. It was the lone sack against Minnesota for the evening  Customized Adidas Men’s Montreal Canadiens Authentic Home Red Ice Hockey Jersey but halted the Vikings drive and forced a quick punt.

The Vikings did not gain much ground in the rushing attack after the first-team offense wrapped up for the evening.

Keenum finished the game 12-of-18 passing for 70 yards. Taylor Heinicke, who rotated in early in the fourth quarter, completed six of nine passes for 84 yards and a touchdown to Bucky Hodges.

Vikings Head Coach Mike Zimmer said he’ll have a better assessment of the line’s performance after watching film.

“That’s really hard for me to see during the game from the sideline, but in practice we’ve been working Easton at guard and Elflein at center, so I’ve gotten a chance to see them,” Zimmer said. “They’re quick, low-center-of-gravity guys.

Zimmer said he thinks Minnesota is likely to have Reiff and Boone back in the mix on Aug. 27 when Minnesota hosts San Francisco in the third preseason game for both teams.

“I think we’ll get all of our guys back next week,” Zimmer said.

Vikings 1st-Team Offense Makes Preseason Progress in Se Joe Carter Blue Jays attle

December 15th, 2017

SEATTLE — If the preseason is designed for teams to show progress from week to week, the Vikings offense certainly achieved its missio Blue Jays Canada Day Jersey n Friday night.

A week after Minnesota’s first-team offense mustered just 34 yards on total offense in three series against the Bills, the Vikings gained 123 yards against Seattle in the same number of series.

Two key pieces of Minnesota’s offense said the performance was a step in the right direction.

“We came out and executed. We came out and played better than we did last week,” said Vikings wide receiver Stefon Diggs said. “We played a lot longer than we played last week, too, so it’s good to be out there for a while, get in a rhythm.”

Added Vikings quarterback Sam Bradford: “Obviously you want to go out there and you want to play great every time you step on the field. You  Women’s Toronto Blue Jays Josh Donaldson Scarlet Fashion Canada Day Red FlexBase Authentic Jersey know, I think from last week to this week we definitely made some progress, though, and I think we’re going in the right direction.”

Diggs and Bradford had a strong rapport all night as the wide receiver led the team with f Men’s Customized Toronto Blue Jays Majestic Flexbase Authentic Alternate Royal Blue Jersey our catches for 65 yards. The biggest chun Custom Blue Jays Jersey k of his production came on Minnesota’s first series as Diggs and Bradford connected on a 39-yard gain down the left sideline.

“You know, honestly it was a play that we’ve probably had in for a while but haven’t run it and decided to run it tonight,” Bradford s Kevin Pillar Jersey aid. “And it worked. Obviously Diggs did a really nice job of just kind of feeling the soft spot once he kind of got in there to that second level.

“The protection was great,” added Bradford, who went 7-of-11 for 95 yards. “We were able to kind of create a big play right there.”

The V Men’s Toronto Blue Jays Kevin Pillar Majestic Scarlet Fashion Canada Day Red Flex Base Authentic Jersey ikings settled for a field goal on their opening drive but picked up 76 yards of offense against a Seattle defense that has been among the league’s best over the past few seasons. Minnesota had two penalties in the red zone before the field goal.

“Obviously it was nice to come out and move the ball on that first drive the way we did,” Bradford said. “Then the two negative plays kind of set us back, which was something that was a little disappointing, given the fact that it’s been a point of emphasis of ours in the offseason.

“I think there were some positives,” Bradford added. “We’ll go back and look at the tape and see exactly what went on out there, but there’s definitely some things that we can build on.”

Vikings rookie running back Dalvin Cook also showcased his skills by gaining 50 yards on eight touches. The second-round pick had seven carries for 40 yards and a reception for 10 yards.

Cook’s best sequence on the ground came when he tallied 33 yards on three straight carries during Minnesota’s second d Josh Donaldson Jersey rive.

“We just have to keep attacking the defense,” Cook said. “We’re getting more comfortable in what we’re doing.

“It definitely felt good breaking a long run,” Cook added about his 15-yard gain at the end of the first quarter. “It gives the O-line some confidence and (helps us) establish ourselves early.”

Added Bradford: “It was awesome [to see Dalvin]. We’ve seen it all camp, just what he’s been able to do. I think we all know how talented he is, but for him to be able to do that tonight, he was close to breaking a few for some really long runs. Even what he  Joe Carter Jersey was able to do tonight, it was great to see.”

The Vikings will resume preseason play on Aug. 27 at U.S. Bank Stadium against the San Francisco 49ers.

Bradford said it’s a chance for his unit to keep making progress.

“Obviously the third preseason game is usually kind of the most ‘real,’ or it’s kind of your dress rehearsal before the regular season,” Bradford said. “I think to get out there next week and get some extended action, get into a rhythm, go out there and put a few things together.

“I’m not sure what our week will be this week, but if we do have a game plan, it will be nice to kind of jump into a game plan and hit the film a little bit more over the week,” he added. “And then go out there and put it on the field.”

Bower, Odenigbo Pick Good Time and Place to Record Joe Carter Blue Jays  Sacks Against Seahawks

December 15th, 2017

Minnesota’s second preseason game featured some flash plays from young defenders.

Despite the ultimate 20-13 loss to the Seahawks, Vikings were able to ge Kevin Pillar Jersey t long looks at players on the second- and third-team defense Friday night. A number of new names stood out, including Tashawn Bower, Jaleel Johnson and Ifeadi Odenigbo, who led the Vikings in tackles.

After Russell Wilson played the entire first half for Seattle, Trevone Boykin starte Men’s Customized Toronto Blue Jays Majestic Flexbase Authentic Alternate Royal Blue Jersey d the third quarter and immediately felt the pressure from Minnesota’s second-team defense. Boykin looked to capitalize on a fumbled kickoff return by Rodney Adams, but on his first snap from the Vikings 18-yard-line, he was sacked by Bower for a loss of 10 yards.

The takedown marked Bower’s second sack in as many preseason games. He recorded four tackles, a tackle for loss and a quarterback hurry on Friday, according to press box stats.

KFAN analyst and former linebacker Ben Leber said he’s been impressed by the way defensive line coach Andre Patterson appears to be developing the undrafted free agent in the same way he worked with Danielle Hunter, a former teammate of Bower’s at LSU.

Leber told KFAN’s Paul Allen during the simulcast of the game that Patterson has a way of building off the players’ “God-given talents.”

“I think for bot Men’s Mitchell and Ness Vintage 1993 Joe Carter Toronto Blue Jays Alternate Royal Blue Throwback Jersey h [Bower and Hunter], it’s strength, and it’s their hand usage,” Leber said. “So many guys in college just want to run around the blocks, and [Patterson is] saying, ‘No. Don’t do that. Use your strengths. Attack these guys. Once you engage, you’re strong enough to create separation.’

“And once you do that, then  Joe Carter Jersey he’ll teach y Women’s Toronto Blue Jays Josh Donaldson Scarlet Fashion Canada Day Red FlexBase Authentic Jersey ou t Men’s Toronto Blue Jays Kevin Pillar Majestic Scarlet Fashion Canada Day Red Flex Base Authentic Jersey he techniques on how to get off on some pass-rushing moves,” Leber continued. “S Josh Donaldson Jersey o these guys have really taken to that coaching. It’s different; it’s different than what they’ve learned, so it takes some time. But you look at Danielle Hunter, and if Bower can do the same sort of things, and take the coaching and develop, boy, he could be a heck of a player too.”

After Bower’s sack moved Boykin back to the 28, he threw an incomplete pass on second-and-20. On third down he once again met the fury of Minnesota’s defense, this time in the form of Odenigbo. The rookie’s first sack in the pros knocked Boykin back another six yards and effectively held Seattle to a field goal after starting the drive in the red zone.

Odenigbo recorded six total tackles (four solo), one tackle for loss and a pair of quarterback hurries. In the final five minutes of the game, he also forced an Alex Collins fumble. The ball was recovered by fellow rookie Eric Wilson to give Minnesota an opportunity at coming back from a 20-6 deficit.

Stephen Weatherly, a second-year Custom Blue Jays Jersey  defensive end who recorded three tackles and a quarterback hurry, said Vikings successes resulted from teamwork.

“The defensive ends did a good job pressuring the quarterback, but that wouldn’t be possible unless our interior guys were collapsing the pocket,” Weatherly said. “The defensive line as a group did really well versus the two mobile quarterbacks we [faced].”

Johnson was part of the interior defensive line that did some damage.

The fourth-round draft pick’s five total tackles ranked second on the team, and he added two tackles for loss. Early in the fourth quarter, Johnson had back-to-back stops of Collins – the second for a loss of five yards – that helped Minnesota hold Seattle to three-and-out.

On the following drive, Johnson tackled Collins after just a 1-yard gain and a few plays later took down Mike Davis for a three-yard loss.

The young defenders were given a good test when Vikings Head Coach Mike Zimmer rotated in the second-team defense while Seattle’s first-team offense remained on the field.

“That’s our chance to show to Coach ’Dre, who constantly says over and over again, ‘If you want to make this team, you need to perform like our starters,’ ” Weatherly said. “And when we get to go against other teams’ starters, it’s a direct comparison. Do I play the run the same way [Everson Griffen] does? Can I rush the passer the same way [Danielle] does versus the same level of competition?’ So we like that, we accept that challenge, and we try to do our best against it.”

After Kevin Piilar Blue Jays  Further Review: Danielle Hunter’s Sack of Russell Wilson

December 14th, 2017

After Further Review is a deeper look at plays or stats after Vikings games…

Vikings third-year pro Danielle Hunter has shown multiple signs that he’s ready to be a starting defensive end in the NFL.

Another one occurred Friday night when Hunter chased down the always elusive Russell Wilson for a loss of 13 that forced a punt.

The play was a combination of Hunter’s athletic talents, Minnesota having so many strong pass rushers in its third-down nickel rush uni Toronto Blue Jays t and three teammates doing their jobs.

The Seahawks try to chip Hunter briefly with the tight end at the line of scrimmage as right tackle Germain I Josh Donaldson Jersey fedi backs up to give him more time against Hunter’s quickness.

Seattle double teams Robison, leaving 1-on-1s with Johnson and Griffen. Johnson and Griffen push back their men while keeping rush-lane integrity, which is so critical against mobile quarterbacks.

Hunter beats Ifedi and has enough quickness to chase down Wilson, whose escape options were limited because of the work of Robison, Johnson a Blue Jays Canada Day Jersey nd Griffen.

3 Stat Kevin Piilar Blue Jays s That Stood Out: Vikings at Seahawks

December 14th, 2017

The Vikings fell to the Seahawks 20-13 on Friday in Seattle in the second preseason game for both teams.

Seattle scored on its opening possession and never trailed.

Russell Wilson led a pair of touchdown drives. The first was against the first-team defense, and the second was after most Vikings defensive starters had headed for the sidelines.

Taylor Heinicke led the Vikings on a late touchdown drive but it wasn’t enough to complete a comeback.

Here are three stats that stood out:

1. Vikings allowed abnormally high yards per reception

Wilson completed 13 of 18 passes, and fi Men’s Mitchell and Ness Vintage 1993 Joe Carter Toronto Blue Jays Alternate Royal Blue Throwback Jersey ve of those gained 2 Men’s Customized Toronto Blue Jays Majestic Flexbase Authentic Alternate Royal Blue Jersey 0 or more yards, including a long of 37 and a short toss to running back Mike Davis that resulted in a 22-yard touchdown.

The Seahawks averaged 14.1 yards per reception (282 yards on 20 catches) one week after the Vikings limited the Bills to 8.6 yards per reception.

Since Head Coach Mike Zimmer arrived in 2014, Minnesota’s defense has averaged an allowance of 10.1, 10.5 and 10.0 yards allowed per reception in the past three seasons.

2. Bradford to Diggs was great for “ratings”

Sam Bradford and Stefon Diggs connected on four of the five times the quarterback targeted the third-year receiver.

Against one of the stingiest pass defenses, Bradford and Diggs showed confidence in each other. Bradford wasn’t afraid to put the ball in tight coverage, and Diggs wasn’t afraid to go get it. The highlights will feature a 39-yard gain on which Bradford had plenty of time to allow Diggs to find an opening in the defense. The play before, however, was m Kevin Pillar Jersey uch shorter but equally important.

Facing third-and-3, Bradford put a speedball just past the sticks, and Diggs showed tremendous concentration and toughness despite a converging hit by linebacker Bobby W Josh Donaldson Jersey agner and safety Earl Thomas for a 5-yard gain to move the chains.

Pro Football Focus noted that Diggs generated a wide receiver rating of 118.8 for Bradford. A wide receiver rating is based on the results of the quarterback rating to a certain receiver, and the duo totaled 65 yards on four catches and five targets.

3. Time of possession

A week after controlling the clock in Buffalo, particularly the third quarter when t Toronto Blue Jays he Vikings had the b Women’s Toronto Blue Jays Josh Donaldson Scarlet Fashion Canada Day Red FlexBase Authentic Jersey all for 10:54, Minnesota had the ball for just 12:09 in the second half and only 5:55 in the fourth quarter, making it hard to mount a comeback.

The V Men’s Toronto Blue Jays Kevin Pillar Majestic Scarlet Fashion Canada Day Red Flex Base Authentic Jersey ikings made it a one-score game at halftime and trailed 14-6 after a 51-yard field goal by Kai Forbath, but rookie Rodney Adams fumbled the opening kickoff return of the second half.

Seattle lost 16 yards on its ensuing four-play possession thanks to sacks by Tashawn Bower and Ifeadi Odenigbo, but Blair Walsh was good from 52 to make it a 17-6 game.

Minnesota had seven possessi Joe Carter Jersey ons in the second half, and three of those lasted less than one minute.
