Priefer Expects Dynamic Kickoff Custom Patriots Jersey Returns to Continue

October 16th, 2017

MANKATO, Minn. — The Vikings will feature a new first-team kickoff returner in 2017, but they believe that game-changing plays can continue.

Special Teams Coordinator Mike Priefer said it’s too early to answer who will be tabbed to replace Pro Bowl return specialist Cordarrelle Patterson in the role, Custom Patriots Jersey but the team has several options and plans to be aggressive this season.

Maybe not in the 109-yard return for a touchdown way like Patterson did to set an NFL record in 2013, but they still will look to capitalize on opportunities.

“You don’t replace Cordarrelle Patterson. I think he’s one of the most unique athletes that I’ve had the opportunity to work with,” Priefer said. “What you do is you find a returner that’s going to be very, very good, whether it’s Jerick McKinnon or Rodney Adams, Marcus Sherels, Stacy Coley, even Dalvin Cook.

“[Head Coach Mike Zimmer] teased me about that the other day because over the summer I had mentioned that I’d like to use [Cook] there,” Priefer added. “If he’s not running the ball a lot, I might jump up on the table for him. You want to use the best players that are available, and Dalvin’s got ability, but they all have availability.”

On Friday with McKinnon unavailable, the Vikings had Sherels, Adams, Coley and Isaac Fruechte Custom Dolphins Jersey participate in a kickoff return drill.

“Jerick is hurt right now. I’d like to give him an opportunity,” Priefer said. “Rodney is doing a good job. He’s getting better. Marcus has told me he’s durable enough to do both, and he is a very prideful young man. We’ll see as the games get closer. I think that’s going to work itself out.”

Sherels returned 16 kickoffs for 445 yards (27.8 average) in the 2011 season and 16 more for 422 yards (26.4 average) in the following year before the Vikings drafted Patterson. Since then, Sherels has returned eight additional kickoffs a total of 178 yards.

Priefer said he thinks Sherels is good enough to be a starting kick returner for multiple NFL teams. It’s just that the Vikings had Percy Harvin when Priefer arrived in 2011 and 2012 and then drafted Patterson in 2013.

“Marcus could be the guy this year because he’s so talented,” Priefer said. “I don’t think he’s an NFL backup Custom Packers Jersey kick returner. I think he could be a starter in this league.

“The only reason [to not go] with him, would be because of his size,” Priefer added. “I don’t want him to get beat up, and kickoff return, sometimes you can take some shots. On punt returns, he can take some shots because he’s so good with his vision. He’s also a very valuable gunner.”

Sherels has five career punt return touchdowns and the two best year-long punt return averages in team history (15.2 in 2013 and 13.9 in 2016). A rib injury caused Sherels to miss three straight games last season (at Detroit, against Dallas, at Jacksonville).

The Vikings have ranked third or better in average starting field position after kickoffs in each season under Priefer:

2011: 24.5 (third)

2012: 24.6 (second)

2013: 27.2 (first)

2014: 25.1 (second)

2015: 25.0 (first)

2016: 26.9 (second)

Minnesota also has seven kickoff return touchdowns since 2011.

Priefer said the Vikings past success stems from talented returners and the other 10 players on the field executing.

“We believe in what we teach technique-wise with our front line, with our back line,” Priefer said. “We believe in our schemes and how we attack people. We’ve been successful there, not only because we’ve had great Personalized Patriots Jersey athletes but because we’ve had guys that believe we’re going to be good on that unit and we go out there and execute Personalized Dolphins Jersey.”

Bradford Eyeing Big Plays From Vikings Personalized Packers Jersey Offense

October 16th, 2017

MANKATO, Minn. — A year ago, Sam Bradford was just trying to call plays correctly when he arrived in Minnesota two weeks before his first Custom Dolphins Jersey start.

But now that the Vikings quarterback has settled into his first training camp in Purple, Bradford has had time to work with a collection of receiving targets to
Men’s Nike Custom Made Miami Dolphins Elite Aqua Green Team Color NFL Jersey learn their tendencies and skill sets.

And whether it’s Stefon Diggs, Adam Thielen, Kyle Rudolph or Laquon Treadwell, Bradford said the group has been putting in the work each day.

“I think it’s just reps,” Bradford said on building a rapport. “I think it’s just getting out there in practice throwing routes on air.

“All those situations are great for quarterbacks’ and wide receivers’ chemistry,” Bradford added. “I think it’s just getting reps and figuring out what we do well together.”

If Bradford and the Vikings skill players can keep getting on the same page, there could be a change in Minnesota’s offensive philosophy.

Bradford set an NFL record for completion percentage in 2016 with a 71.6 rate, Custom Packers Jersey but the Vikings offense had just eight completions of 40 yards or more.

Bradford’s 7.02 yards per attempt ranked 19th in league, but he’s had talks with Vikings Offensive Coordinator Pat Shurmur about pushing the ball down the field.

“I think just looking back at last year at some of the conversations I’ve had with Pat, you know, just trying to figure out a way to create more explosive plays, trying to figure out ways to maybe get the ball downfield a little bit more that way we’re not having to work so hard every drive,” Bradford said. “You know, 12, 13, 14-play scoring drives where you know if we can have some more explosive plays maybe we can have some shorter scoring drives that will help us.”Youth Nike Custom Made New England Patriots Elite Navy Blue Team Color Jersey Sale.

The best example of a quick-strike offense Custom Packers Jersey was when the Vikings went 75 yards in just two plays in Week 16 at Green Bay last season. Thielen beat a pair of defenders for a 71-yard touchdown catch, the Vikings longest offensive play of the season.

Bradford and the Vikings Personalized Packers Jersey drew loud cheers from the crowd at Saturday’s practice as the quarterback connected with Rudolph on a lengthy pass that would have went for at least 40 yards.

“It was a pretty good play call, just the situation. We were backed up, it was third and one,” Bradford said. “You know, I think the defense was expecting a run and then to come out with the play action, I think Pat just Custom Patriots Jersey made a good call and Rudy sold it coming down on the block and got out behind him. It was a good design.”Women’s Nike Custom Made Green Bay Packers Elite Team Color NFL Football Jersey Sale.

A year after throwing for 3,877 yards and 20 touchdowns, Bradford wants to push the envelope a little more.

Having a great relationship with Shurmur, Bradford noted, will be a key component to a more explosive Vikings offense.

“I am extremely comfortable going up to him and telling him when I’m not comfortable with something and a certain play just doesn’t fit my eye, or if there is something that I have seen on tape, or something that I have done in the past that would be good that week versus the defense we are playing,” Bradford said. “I don’t hesitate to bring it up.

“Like I said, we might put it in during the week or we might try it out here in training camp to see what it looks like,” Bradford said. “If it looks good it might get added and if not we will scrap it and look for another one.”

Notebook:Personalized Dolphins Jersey Rhodes Credits Influence of Zimmer, Newman for Progression

October 16th, 2017

MANKATO, Minn. — Xavier Rhodes heard the criticism but quickly learned to take the coaching.Men’s Nike Custom Made Miami Dolphins Elite Aqua Green Team Color NFL Jersey.

Rhodes was in just his second NFL season in 2014 when Vikings Head Coach Personalized Dolphins Jersey Mike Zimmer and defensive backs coach Jerry Gray arrived in Minnesota.

Rhodes had shown glimpses of potential, recording the second-most pass breakups in a Custom Patriots Jersey season in team history (23) as a rookie, and also left room for improvement as the 25th overall pick in 2013.

Enter Zimmer — who’s been dubbed by many, including 2015 first-round pick Trae Waynes, as a “DB guru” — to harp on the details and push Rhodes toward full-potential.

“Xavier! Xavier!” Zimmer would squawk at a higher pitch than his usual tone.

Once the coach had the cornerback’s attention, he quickly passed along information in a way that helped build Rhodes’ confidence.

It has shown on the field the past two seasons. Rhodes recorded a team-best five interceptions in 2016 en route to his first Pro Bowl selection.

After Rhodes inked a multi-year contract extension on Sunday, he admitted his initial impression of Zimmer on the practice field was, ‘Man, he needs to lay off, get off my back.’

“But I mean, it turned out great. He was on me each and every play,” Rhodes said. “There were times we were in the red zone, and I had him in the back of my head, ‘Xavier, back up. Xavier, put your inside foot.’

“I was like, ‘Coach, the offense isn’t even lined up yet. What are you telling me to back up?’ But he’s always been on me, he’s always believed in me,” Rhodes added. “He always told me, ‘You know, I’m going to work you hard until you’re the best corner in the league.’ He trusted in me, and to this day I really thank
Youth Nike Custom Made New England Patriots Elite Navy Blue Team Color Jersey Sale him.”

In addition to Zimmer, Rhodes thanked the Wilf Family ownership group, General Manager Rick Spielman, his agent Sunny Shah, his mentor (and former NFL cornerback) Terrell Buckley, high school coach Torriano Brooks, college coaches at Florida State and Vikings coaches and teammates in his opening remarks.

Zimmer said Rhodes’ focus on concentration before the snap has allowed him to be more impactful during games.

“I think his biggest step is he comes out here and is focused on what he’s got to do,” Zimmer said. “He’s able to play the game better as opposed to trying to learn the technique, learn responsibilities and things like that.”

Rhodes also referenced everything that he’s learned from Terence Newman since the 2003 first-round pick of the Cowboys arrived in Minnesota in 2015.

“Terence Newman is a guy that helped me understand the things I need to work on, and that’s knowing [what to expect on particular down and distances],” Rhodes said. “He always told me that I have the athletic ability, but it’s the knowledge part that I needed to gain.

“That’s what I’ve been working on since day one, since he’s been here, progressing it each year, and last year was the year that it really clicked for me,” Rhodes added. “This year I’m trying to take it to a whole new level. Harrison [Smith], [Andrew] Sendejo, [Anthony] Barr and the whole defense, those guys look to me for making plays when they need to be made. I just love those guys.”

The Vikings have been able to entrust Rhodes with shadowing an opponent’s top receiver. He limited Giants Pro Bowl receiver Odell Beckham, Jr. to a
Women’s Nike Custom Made Green Bay Packers Elite Team Color NFL Football Jersey Sale career-low 23 yards on Monday Night Football last season.

Zimmer was asked about the significance of a corner like Rhodes.

“It is [important] for us because we like to lock guys up, and I think last year he showed that Personalized Packers Jersey he could go against some of the better receivers and do a good job,” Zimmer said. “So anytime you get guys like that, I think it’s valuable.”

Spielman also spoke to what Rhodes has meant to the Vikings so far and said the personnel department is pleased to re-sign yet another core player. Minnesota re-signed Personalized Patriots Jersey Everson Griffen to a contract extension on Wednesday.

“Just excited to get Xavier Rhodes signed, there’s no question about what he brings to us on the field, especially at that position,” Spielman said. “This is Custom Patriots Jersey another strategic planning that we put in place this offseason, knowing how many young guys we want to keep.

“We want as many of these young core players together as we possibly can,” Spielman said. “Xavier was a high priority coming into this offseason, and we wanted to make sure that we got him locked in to be a Minnesota Viking for most of his career, hopefully ending his career with us.”

Rhodes also is planning for the future. Asked what his first purchase with new contract money is going to be, Rhodes said, “It will be diapers, a crib, a lot of baby stuff, you know, that’s basically all.”

He has one son, Justin, and is expecting another child in November.

Sunday’s situation Custom Dolphins Jersey

Zimmer has been hammering the Vikings with situational football exercises throughout the offseason.

On Sunday near the end of practice, he had the first team offense take the ball at its own 9-yard line with under three minutes to go. Facing a third-and-2, Sam Bradford tried to connect with Stefon Diggs. Smith was in coverage, and the pass fell incomplete. Refs through a flag, but the team continued with a punt by Taylor Symmank that netted 33 yards.

Zimmer then opted have Taylor Heinicke at quarterback working with the second-team offense against the second-team defense.

Heinicke alternated completions between rookie tight end Bucky Hodges and veteran Michael Floyd. Hodges gained 9, then Bishop Sankey rushed for 4. Floyd caught a 17-yard reception to place the ball at the 18. Hodges caught a 2-yard gain. One play later, Heinicke drilled a throw into the end zone and Floyd secured it with an impressive diving catch.

‘A little bit of a load’

The Vikings continued alternating Nick Easton and Pat Elflein at center with the first team on Sunday.

Zimmer was asked to assess Elflein, a third-round pick out of Ohio State, after two days in full pads. The coach pointed across the line to the stiff competition each faces when working against Pro Bowl defensive tackle Linval Joseph.

“It’s two days. There’s good and bad, like all of them,” Zimmer said. “He’s learning. He’s pretty sharp on the calls and things like that. [He and Nick Easton] have to go against Linval every day, so that’s a little bit of a load, but he has good plays and bad plays.”

3 Observations:Personalized Packers Jersey Michael Floyd Shines for Personalized Packers Jersey Vikings

October 16th, 2017

MANKATO, Minn. — The Vikings put on full pads for the second straight Personalized Packers Jersey day, working through a variety of situations and drills for approximately two hours on Sunday.

It was the eighth straight day of camp for Vikings rookies and select veterans, Personalized Packers Jersey while the rest of the veterans were hard at work for the fourth day in a row.

Minnesota will hold a walk-through Monday from 10:30-11:30 a.m., followed by practice from 2:45-5:10 p.m. Tuesday will be the Vikings first day off this Men’s Nike Custom Made Miami Dolphins Elite Aqua Green Team Color NFL Jersey camp.

Here are three observations from Sunday’s session:

1. The Floyd factor

There was no question who stood out at practice on Sunday.Youth Nike Custom Made New England Patriots Elite Navy Blue Team Color Jersey Sale.

Vikings wide receiver Michael Floyd showed off the talent that made him a first-round pick by Arizona back in 2012.

Floyd’s first big catch came in the red zone when he made a leaping, one-handed grab from quarterback Custom Packers Jersey Case Keenum for a touchdown that drew a large ovation.

The former Notre Dame standout then connected with Keenum on a deep pass down the right sideline during 7-on-7 drills that likely would have been a 55-yard score.

Floyd then capped off his monster day by making a play in the clutch. With the clock running down in a late-game scenario, Floyd twisted his body and made a falling back-shoulder grab from quarterback Taylor Heinicke for a score in a crowd of defenders.

“So far, he’s made some big-time catches,” said Vikings Head Coach Mike Zimmer. “He’s got some good speed and physicality.

“That last play in the end zone there, he kind of bodied the guy up and made a hell Personalized Patriots Jersey of a Custom Dolphins Jersey catch,” Zimmer added.

2. Sam slings it

Sam Bradford talked Sunday morning about taking more deep shots down the field.

He backed up his word in the afternoon practice.

Bradford and the Vikings opened practice with a unique drill in which three skills players and the quarterback try to go against four defenders (usually a linebacker and three defensive backs) in a passing drill.

Bradford wasted no time showing off his accuracy, pinpointing a perfect pass to wide receiver Stefon Diggs as linebacker Anthony Barr, cornerback Trae Waynes and safety Harrison Smith lurked nearby Custom Patriots Jersey.

Bradford then aired it out, as he hit wide receiver Jarius Wright on a deep route past cornerback Xavier Rhodes and safety Andrew Sendejo.

The quarterback then wowed the crowd with a perfect pass to Diggs later in a team drill. Waynes and Sendejo were in solid position, but Bradford’s throw was only where Diggs could haul it in.Women’s Nike Custom Made Green Bay Packers Elite Team Color NFL Football Jersey Sale.

3. Keeping up with kickoff returns

The Vikings trotted out a trio of players at kick returner Sunday, with Marcus Sherels, Rodney Adams and Isaac Fruechte taking turns returning live kicks under the watchful eye of Vikings Special Teams Coordinator Mike Priefer.

Jerick McKinnon, who is coming off an injury, stood in the end zone but watched the drill.

Priefer also threw different situations at his kickoff return team, but they were alert and attentive.

Linebacker Ben Gedeon made a heads up play by smothering an onside kick, and defensive tackle Shamar Stephen corralled a pooch kick and rumbled up the field.

Lifetime of Vikings Stories Behind Personalized Dolphins Jersey Larger-Than-Life Helmet

October 16th, 2017

MANKATO, Minn. – As Vikings players drive onto the campus of Minnesota State University, Mankato, park their cars and walk toward crowds waiting to Personalized Dolphins Jersey greet them, one fan particularly stands out among the blur of purple.

Retired Army Colonel Milt Toratti is near the entrance to Julia Sears Residence Hall, his purple-and-gold shoes crossing just over the grass and onto the Custom Dolphins Jersey sidewalk. In front of him, Toratti holds a larger-than-life homemade plastic Vikings helmet, complete with white facemask, eye shield and painted horns.Men’s Nike Custom Made Miami Dolphins Elite Aqua Green Team Color NFL Jersey.

“It’s a little bit tight,” Toratti quips as he lowers the helmet over his head – and shoulders – and peeks out.

Toratti, affectionately Personalized Patriots Jersey known by most as “Uncle Milty” was born in 1943 in the Iron Range and attended the first-ever Vikings Training Camp that took place in Bemidji, Minnesota, in 1961.

He’s missed only a handful of camps since, during his time serving in the Vietnam War.

“The very first autograph I ever got was Tommy Mason. He was the Vikings very first draft choice, ever, and I have that card,” Toratti tells me. “And I have a couple of other items that he autographed years later, and they’re pretty special. That’s probably the most important one I’ve gotten.”

Toratti has come to be recognized by the unique items he totes to training camp each year, each of them hand-crafted.

He reaches to a back pocket for his smart phone and begins swiping through photos of recent years: there’s a picture of Toratti wearing a purple fire helmet and standing next to Vikings Head Coach Mike Zimmer; another posing with General Manager Rick Spielman; a third photo depicts Toratti, wearing a helmet shaped like a golf ball, alongside wide receiver Adam Thielen.

“I’ve been in his corner since day one,” Toratti says of Thielen, a Minnesota native.

Toratti holds the Vikings near and dear to his heart, and the autographs he seeks aren’t just from players. This time around, he snags the John Hancock of’s Mike Wobschall.Youth Nike Custom Made New England Patriots Elite Navy Blue Team Color Jersey Sale.

“I watch you every week!” Toratti excitedly tells Wobschall.

He points out coaches’ autographs scrawled across the top of the helmet. On the visor is the signature of Vikings longtime equipment manager Dennis Ryan, who started full-time with the Vikings in 1977 – 16 years after Toratti had attended his first training camp.

“I met Dennis Ryan last year in Cincinnati,” Toratti said. “He remembers me because over all the camps, I’ve been right in the front. He remembered me and came right straight over – I didn’t have to ask.”

Within an hour, Toratti has dozens of autographs.

It’s clear that history and keepsakes are important to Toratti, who has written oral histories for 39 military veterans to help archive their memories for stories and loved ones. His first Custom Patriots Jersey interview was at the age of 13, when Toratti transcribed for the last surviving service member from the Civil War – he was 106 years old.

“It’s my passion,” he says.

So when Toratti and his wife moved to Ohio three years ago to be closer to their eldest son, all of the memorabilia he collected over the years was relocated with him. He speaks proudly of his basement that could pass as a museum.

Among the collection is the last helmet he wore while serving in Vietnam, painted Vikings purple and autographed by players and coaches following the war. There’s also a genuine leather golf bag that belonged to Hall of Fame Coach Bud Grant.Women’s Nike Custom Made Green Bay Packers Elite Team Color NFL Football Jersey Sale.

“That’s kind of the centerpiece,” Toratti says.

Due to health concerns, Toratti expected to miss this year’s camp – but plans changed when he was contacted by a Minnesota media member and notified that the 2017 camp will be the team’s last in Mankato.

“They tracked me down. They said, ‘You’ve got to come back,’ ” chuckled Toratti, who convinced his wife to let him make the 750-mile trek with a friend.

“They asked me, ‘Custom Packers Jersey What are you going to bring?’ ” Toratti added with a smile. “And I said, ‘Well, I’ve got something unique this year.’ ”

Everson Griffen: Men’s Nike Custom Made Jacksonville Jaguars Elite Team Color Teal Green NFL Jersey ‘I’m a Viking for Life’

October 12th, 2017

MANKATO, Minn. – Everson Griffen plans to wear Purple for a long time.

The Vikings announced on Wednesday that they have signed Griffen to a contract extension. Griffen, entering his eighth season in Minnesota, said he’s excited to be staying around.Men’s Nike Custom Made Jacksonville Jaguars Elite Team Color Teal Green NFL Jersey.

“Man, it means I’m a Viking for life,” Griffen told media members shortly after reporting to training camp Wednesday morning. “My appreciation’s high; I appreciate each day I step on the football field, I appreciate the coaching staff, the ownership, the organization.

“It shows me that they respect me more as a player and as a man, too,” Griffen continued. “I can never take that for granted, and I’m going to go out there [go all out] now, like I always do. I don’t have to change nothing in my play but just Women’s Toronto Blue Jays Josh Donaldson Majestic White Flex Base 40th Anniversary Patch Jersey take my game to the next level each and every day. And help this team win.”

The Vikings selected Griffen 100th overall in the 2010 NFL Draft. Since then, he has worked his way up from a special teams contributor to an integral part of Minnesota’s defense, where he has started all but one game at defensive end over the past three seasons. Since 2014, he has recorded the fifth-most sacks in the NFL with 30.5.

Griffen said he’s grateful to defensive line coach Andre Patterson for helping him “master his technique” and reach the level he has. Griffen received consecutive Pro Bowl nods for his performance in the 2015 and 2016 seasons.

Vikings safety Harrison Smith Custom Jaguars Jersey, who has joined Griffen at the Pro Bowl in each of the past two seasons, wasn’t surprised by the extension.

“You don’t let guys like that go,” Smith said. “A lot of times, you see sack numbers, and that’s what sticks out, but he’s a complete player that dominates the game in the run and pass.

“Having a guy like him and the rest of the guys up front, I’m glad we have him locked up,” Smith. “I’m glad he’s on our team. It makes our defense that much more potent for a longer time.”

Griffen, 29, said he feels great physically and is thankful for the chance he’s had to develop as a player.

“I think I was fortunate to sit behind Jared Josh Donaldson Jersey [Allen] for four years, so I don’t have all the wear and tear on my body like [players] who get thrown into the fire from the beginning,” Griffen said.

Vikings General Manager Rick Spielman and Griffen extended gratitude to Executive Personalized Vikings Jersey Vice President of Football Operations Rob Brzezinski for helping to work through and finalize the extension.

“We were excited to get Everson Griffen’s extension Josh Donaldson Jersey For Sale done this morning,” Spielman said. “We will continue to work and monitor potential other extensions as we go forward, but excited to get out there
Youth Nike Custom Made Minnesota Vikings Elite Purple Team Color NFL Jersey Cheap and get ready for the 2017 season.”

Griffen also specifically thanked the Wilf Family ownership group for its trust in Griffen to continue contributing at a high level.

“It shows that they have extreme confidence in me and faith in me and that they believe in my abilities to go out there and help this team win a championship,” Griffen said. “Because that’s our number one goal each and every year.”

Griffen said he’s proud to be part of such a talented defensive line unit that has been Personalized Jaguars Jersey able to retain a consistent corps. With his extension signed and his bags moved into a dorm room at Minnesota State University, Mankato, Griffen said it’s time to get to work with his teammates.

“It starts with his process of grinding when we come together as a team, come together as a unit to get where we want to go,” Griffen said. “And we can be the best, but it’s up to us. Like Coach Patterson always says, ‘It ain’t easy being great.’ You have to go out there and work each and every day to be great, and that’s what we have to do.”

One of Griffen’s comrades on the line, Danielle Hunter, was excited to hear that Griffen extended his time with the Vikings.

“I’m really excited about having a guy like that lead me and [be able to] follow his path,” Hunter said. “That’s something I really like to see: when hard work pays off.”

Added Hunter: “Ever since I’ve been here, he’s been one of my mentors, right there, looking forward to seeing what I can do.”

As Griffen looks ahead to a tenured career in Minnesota, he offered a shout out and promise to his supporters:

“And to the fans, the best fans in the world, something special’s going to happen here,” Griffen said. “We have to believe, and they have to believe it. You have to believe it in your heart, and you have to go out each and every day and just work.”

Lunchbreak: Cook on Field Vision, Filling Shoes & Finding the Postseason

October 12th, 2017

Vikings running back Dalvin Cook this morning finished up his third training camp walk-through and final session with just the rookies and select players. Full training camp practices will kick off Thursday Josh Donaldson Jersey For Sale afternoon.

Andrew Krammer of the Star Tribune caught up with Cook Monday and covered a number of topics, including how he spent his break before camp and what his expectations are for the next two weeks.

Krammer mentioned that coaches have praised Cook’s field vision, and the rookie said it’s “what I pride my game on.”

“It starts with your eyes, man. Once you put your body in the right position, that’s when I let my talent take over,” Cook told Krammer. “My speed, me just being athletic and versatile, so my eyes are the key to my game. I just think where I come from, you see a lot of stuff and you have Personalized Jaguars Jersey to be aware of everything. That’s just being aware of my surroundings. That’s where I think my vision came from. It’s bigger than football.”

Krammer also asked if the Cook feels extra pressure wearing Purple in the wake of Adrian Peterson.

Cook said it’s a situation similar to one he faced at the college level.

“Nah, people talk about it, but I don’t,” Cook told Krammer. “When I went to Florida State, they tried to make me fill Devonta [Freeman’s] shoes. I just come in and be me. Eventually, my time will come. So I just come in, work hard, do everything the right way and keep my head down. As time passes, which it goes fast, my time will come, man. That light will shine on me.”

Looking ahead through training camp and into his first NFL season, Cook said his biggest goal is establishing himself as a key part of Minnesota’s offense and helping the Vikings make the playoffs.

From there, the sky is the limit.

“I think if we get in the playoffs, we have a big shot at winning the championship,” Cook Custom Jaguars Jersey said. “That’s all I want to do. I just want to win championships and win games. I think once we do that, all the accolades for myself will add up.”

Added Cook: “When I came into Florida State, I never set goals for myself. I always said just make it to the field, get on the field. Just help my team win football games. Once I do that, all the accolades will add up.”

Family helped Gedeon to football career

Ben Gedeon is one of three brothers who grew up on the gridiron but the first to be drafted to the NFL.

Pioneer Press reporter Chad Graff talked to Gedeon about the way family helped shape his journey to the big leagues. Graff wrote:

Backyard battles included 7-on-7 football games with neighbors and Wiffle ball games that could turn physical, especially for Gedeon, always the youngest and thus easiest to pick on. Basement boxing matches helped end disputes.

His older brothers enjoy reminding Gedeon of the days when they were bigger and stronger even as Personalized Vikings Jersey Gedeon works on playing linebacker in Mike Zimmer’s defense.

But Gedeon told Graff: “They’ll always be able to beat me up. It’s a big brother thing.”

Now participating in his first NFL training camp, and with his brothers cheering him on, Gedeon said making the final 53-man roster is in the back of Custom Vikings Jersey his mind but that he’s careful to take things one step at a time.

“If you start looking too far ahead, these days will really get after you,” Gedeon told Graff.

Fixable issues, Bradford’s stability key for 2017

After the Vikings were hit by a barrage of injuries during the 2016 season and finished short of the postseason with an 8-8 record, they’ve worked over the offseason to add depth, bolster the offense and enter 2017 a stronger squad than before.

Anthony Broome of Viking Update said that a number of things are intriguing about Minnesota’s potential in the upcoming season and that a lot rests on quarterback Sam Bradford. Broome wrote:

[Bradford] answered a lot of questions about his play, setting an NFL record for completion percentage in a season behind an offensive line that was one of the worst in the league and an ineffective run game as the result of it.

Bradford’s could be the steadying hand that the team needs to get back to the top of the NFC North standings and into the postseason.

Broome called the division “ripe for the taking,” with Aaron Rodgers and the Packers being the biggest hurdle between Minnesota and the title. He opined that the Lions have improved since 2016 but that the Vikings are still “better on both sides of the ball.”

Everything that went wrong last season is fixable, and the right leadership and roster in place is there to turn things around. The schedule is tough, but the chance at redemption and proving 2016 was an anomaly is going to be the biggest thing to watch this year.

Bradford Warmly Welcomed to Custom Vikings Jersey His 1st Vikings Training Camp

MANKATO, Minn. – Sam Bradford didn’t know what to expect when he steered onto the campus of Mankato State University, Mankato on Wednesday.

What he discovered was a sea of Purple that stretched nearly the entire length of the sidewalk outside Julia Sears Residence Hall.

“I thought it was really cool today to pull in and see all of our fans out there,” Bradford said. “I think that’s pretty special, and it just speaks to how great our fans are.”

After joining the Vikings on Sept. 3 through a whirlwind trade following Teddy Bridgewater’s season-ending knee injury, Bradford has enjoyed his first offseason in Minnesota. The quarterback was grateful for the Organized Team Activity practices and minicamp this year — opportunities he didn’t have with the Vikings last year.

Training camp is that next step.

“This is the first time that I’ve been on a team where we’ve gone away for training camp,” said Bradford, who previously spent time in St. Louis and Philadelphia. “So it’s a little bit different coming down here and walking into a dorm room for the first time since college.”

Bradford’s warm welcome was returned by the passer, who came outside after checking in and signed autographs for eager fans. Bridgewater also greeted fans and stopped to add his signature to a number of footballs, photos and helmets on his way into the dorm. Fans have followed Bridgewater’s rehab through

Bradford said during a podium session with members of the media that the enthusiasm and support made Custom Vikings Jersey him that much more excited to get on the football field.

“When you see that, it kind of gets you fired up to get out there and get going,” he said.

Bradford told media members that he felt positive about the team’s spring work and was ready to build on the foundation that was built.

He stressed the importance of communication.

“Make sure that we’re all speaking the same language, making sure that we’re all seeing things the same way and that we’re on the same page,” Bradford said. “Whether it be in protection with the line, whether it be in route running with the wide receivers, protection with the backs. Just making sure that when we call a play and we step up to the line, that we all know our assignment and that we’re all expecting each other to do the right thing and the same thing.”

Bradford said that in working with returning players like Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs or when building a rapport with new faces, effective communication leads to a trust that’s crucial between a quarterback and his receivers.

Bradford said it’s important to count on his receivers to come out of a route where he expects them to, and in turn, the receivers expect the ball to be thrown a certain way and placed exactly where they need it.

“I think there’s a lot to be said for that chemistry,” Bradford said. “And I think this time of year, it’s really something you try to work on and keep building.”

As the Vikings prepare for their first full-team practice of training camp on Thursday afternoon, Bradford isn’t the only one unfamiliar with the experience. He will also be working with a new-look backfield that includes rookie running back Dalvin Cook and Latavius Murray, whom the Vikings signed in free agency.

Both are players that Bradford called “extremely talented.”

“Just being able to watch Dalvin and what he did during the spring, I think he showed some flashes of his potential,” Bradford said. “Obviously it will be exciting to get Latavius out there and see what he can do. Just from watching from afar what he was able to do in Oakland, I think that he’s a very good football player.”

He added that it’s also positive to have running back Jerick McKinnon returning as a versatile player who has demonstrated strength in protection, running routes and catching the ball.

“I think that position, the chemistry is going to be really strong for us,” Bradford said.

The Vikings are also kicking off their first training camp with Pat Shumur as Offensive Custom Jaguars Jersey Coordinator. Shurmur coached tight ends in Mankato last summer and later took over the coordinator role in November when Norv Turner resigned.

Bradford Personalized Vikings Jersey said he and Shurmur have been working throughout the spring on potential add-ons for the 2017 playbook in addition to retaining things that worked well last season.

“Once we find what we feel will be our identity and what we’re going to do, just fine-tuning that and making sure we’re as sharp as we can be with that,” Bradford said. “This year, hopefully we can be a little bit more balanced with some of the quick game, some of the deeper shots down the field, maybe incorporate some of the play action.”

The Vikings started the 2016 season 5-0, with Bradford in the huddle for four of those contests, before struggling after the bye Personalized Jaguars Jersey week and finishing the year 8-8.

Looking ahead to his second season in Purple, Bradford has set his expectations high.

“Everything’s in front of us right now – I think an opportunity to be a great team,” Bradford said. “I think we have a lot to do. I think we had a great spring, I think we kind of laid the foundation there, [and] we need to look to build upon that.”

Added Bradford: “So it’s just coming out, keeping that hunger, and playing the way we know we can play.”

Notebook: Terence Newman Wants Personalized Jaguars Jersey Vikings to Challenge Each Other

October 11th, 2017

MANKATO, Minn. — Terence Newman arrived for his 15th NFL training camp on Wednesday, the most of any player on the Vikings roster.

The defensive back will turn 39 years old in September but said it was an easy Personalized Jaguars Jersey decision to come back for his third season in Purple.

But as a player who has been on winning teams and losing teams, Newman has Men’s Nike Custom Made Jacksonville Jaguars Elite Team Color Teal Green NFL Jersey a pulse on what can get a team moving on the path to success.

The 2003 first-round pick by Dallas said he wants to see a talented Vikings team be unafraid to challenge each other during the dog days of camp.

“I think this team is close, to be honest with you,” Newman said. “I think we’re close to doing some great things, and obviously we’ve got to work and compete hard.

“I think we need to be a little bit more mean to each other. Hopefully I see that we have a couple more fights,” Newman added. “That lets you know that everyone is really working and guys are getting personal and whatnot.”

Vikings safety Harrison Smith agreed with Newman’s notion, adding that the increase in competition doesn’t mean there needs to be discord or friction within the locker room.

Minnesota started 5-0 in 2016 before ending the season with an 8-8 record.

I think that’s a good point. We have such a good group of guys and such a close-knit group that sometimes we’re not as mean to each other as we should be — in a positive way,” Smith said. “I think that’s what he’s getting at there, and he has more experience than any of us of seeing what types of mentalities and interactions work best with teams. I think he probably Custom Vikings Jersey brings up a good point.”

“We’re around each other all day,” Smith Custom Jaguars Jersey said. “Being around each other and staying competitive with what we’re doing will

Sleep Number envy

Newman and Smith arrived on the campus of Minnesota State University, Mankato Wednesday afternoon and checked into their dorm rooms.

The pair are the only players who were issued Sleep Personalized Vikings Jersey Number beds, which drew the satirical ire of tight end Kyle Rudolph.

Rudolph said he was puzzled when Newman was excited to show him his bed.

“We have queen mattresses, so I was wondering what he was all excited about,” Rudolph said. “In his room, he has a Sleep Number bed and a hotel comforter and a remote for his bed.

“I asked him how he got that, and he wouldn’t tell me, so I just figured that

Rudolph is suitemates with Smith, who also received the luxurious sleeping arrangement.

The two-time Pro Bowl safety quipped that he expect his comfortable bed to help his play on the field.

“I’m pretty excited about getting some solid rest here and really Josh Donaldson Jersey For Sale hoping that increases performance on the field as well,” said Smith, who noted he wasn’t sure how the beds were allocated. “I don’t know if there’s an age requirement. I know Terence has one, too, so I’m pretty sure he qualifies, just off age numbers. I’m not the best sleeper. I sleep on the sofa a lot, so I think it will be good for my performance.”

Time to bond

Joe Berger has been around the block a time or two and is entering his 13th NFL training camp and sixth with Minnesota.

With the organization slated for one last camp in Mankato, the veteran offensive lineman was asked if he would miss anything about it.

Berger said he’ll gladly pass on the dorm rooms and food options, but noted that the togetherness of a team during camp is something to be valued.

“I’ll have to get back to you on that question,” Berger said with a smile. “But the thing about training camp is that it’s a great time to just bond with your teammates.

“I think about the guys I had the opportunity to play with over the years, and that’s what you miss,” Berger added. “I think what you really miss is the time you spend with the guys, kind of uninterrupted. I’ve gotten to bond with some pretty impressive players over the years.”

Berger lined up at right guard with the first-team offense during spring practices. He has played both guard spots and center in his time in Minnesota.

High expectations

With less than 200 days remaining until Super Bowl LII at U.S. Bank Stadium, every NFL team has their eye on the big prize as training camps get underway throughout the country.

Rudolph said he has heard the chatter about the Vikings playing in their own stadium with a title on the line, but added that he expectation is to make it to the Super Bowl no matter where it’s being played.

“I have super-high expectations for our team this year, but I think that’s everyone’s expectation every year,” Rudolph said. “If you start the season without the expectation to win a championship, then you’re cutting yourself short.

“We want to be champions and the first Vikings team to hoist the Lombardi Trophy in our home stadium,” Rudolph added. “A lot of times we get asked if we want to play in our own stadium and of course we do, but that’s our expectation every year.”

Rudolph was near the top in almost all major statistical categories at his positon, as he finished third among all tight ends with 83 catches, tied for third with seven touchdown catches and was fourth with 840 receiving yards.
